Card Games

One of the best tools that modern counselors are using to communicate with clients is the use of card games, and learning cards. Card games have a number of advantages to conventional counseling methods, and work particularly well with younger subjects on a wide range of topics.

Children and others who play games rarely feel threatened when doing so. So while a counseling session may result in very little communication early on, playing a game can be a great catalyst to engage someone with nonverbal communication -- that may in turn result with them opening up and talking.

Courage To Change is proud to offer a wide variety of card games and learning cards that deal with new beginnings, memory activities, mental health, substance abuse recovery, managing money, daily living, anger management, problem solving, and more. Card games and learning cards make difficult concepts easy to grasp and remember, while the players build trust and allow a relationship to form if the games are played over time. Time allows the person being counseled to relax and let their guard down, and eventually get to a place where the person can talk openly. Card games and learning cards are not only for children, but are also effective with teenagers and adults alike.

These card games and learning cards are great tools for counselors, teachers, and parents. Card games and learning cards for counseling are a great idea for any professional in their attempts to not only teach, but also connect and communicate.
